The Story of Tracy Beaker- I love it...

What is it about?

Firstly, Tracy Beaker is a ten year old, troublesome little girl. She lives in the 'Dumping Ground' as she calls it which is a Children's home and she suffers with behavioural problems. Tracy would much like to be in a 'real' home on day soon and throughout the dvd, you meet and share her hopes of moving out of the Dumping Ground. Tracy is very loud and likes to brag about her mum, she says to the other children her mum is a film star in Hollywood, they have to go along with this. In the DVD, you will see all of the tricks Tracy gets up to and the people she meets along the way.

The film is very realistic because it shows arguments between adults and children and sometimes other related issues. Tracy has a wild imagination, and if you've read the book, you'll know that her mum dropped her off at the dumping ground where she begins her story. There are many animations in the dvd as well as the series which can be amusing at times. The program can tackle different emotions. Sometimes it is funny and other times it is quite sad.

One of the people Tracy does despise is Elaine the Pain. She is a care worker who has no clue about anything, no fashion sense, and gets in a mess when anything goes wrong, completely the opposite of the role of a care worker to be honest.

This film will probably appeal to the younger generation but adults may also find this funny if they watch it with their children. This would make a great Christmas present and can be picked up for around 10-15£.

My loves for this book, is probably the character of Tracy Beaker. I just find her so funny and i feel i can relate to her because i have watched the series but, you never know what trick she is going to do next! The other characters obviously befriend Tracy as she is very attention seeking but this just adds drama to the movie! If you like the program, you are most definitely going to like the DVD because it is simply based on the same storyline with all the same characters! It is also worth every penny!

The only disadvantage of this is that it can get a bit repetitive if you have watched the series on the TV. But I have no other problems with this. It is a great film and worth watching!!!
