Advantages: The middle 30-45 minutes are exactly what the trailer promised

Disadvantages: The rest of the film isn't...

Much like many the trailer for the film The Strangers scarred me for life! So much so that i used to run out of the room like an 8 year old everytime it came on.

Needless to say after having that type of reaction as soon as it was released I went to watch it assuming that I was going to be watching one of the best horror films in the last 10 years... if it had only been 30-45 minutes long then it would have been. For those 30-45 minutes the film has non stop scary action and makes you want to run around your house shutting all the curtains fully and making sure all windows and doors are locked and that little gap in the curtains where you can see outside has never tormented you so much! However, the beginning and the end is very slow and unneccessary. It appeared as if they had to try and make it a certain lenght so they padded it out.

Summary: All in all it is a good film but I've never wished for a film to only be 30-45 minutes long before!
