Advantages: Gripping and exciting movie

Disadvantages: Special effects are not up to modern standards, but what else can be expected?

The Terminator for me is one of then greastest movies ever released. To think that it was released way back in 1984 is very hard to believe, though you can tell at times with some of the special effects.

The basic story is that The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) arrives in a flash storm of electricity, and later Kyle Reese arrives in another location in the same sort of way.

The Terminator's task is to kill Sarah Connor. The reason he needs to kill her is because her un-born son, John Connor, will in the future lead a human resistance against the machines. The humans are on the verge of beating the machines, so the machines counter this by trying to kill John before he is born. Kyle's mission is to protect Sarah from being killed.

The movie is really gripping, and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout.

The Special Edition of this movie is great too because you get to see parts that were originally cut from the final screening. There are also lots of interviews to watch.
