?A man invents a time machine that allows him to travel 800,000 years into the future?

I went to see this film mainly based on the title of the film; I am an avid fan of the ?Back to the future? series. I though this was going to be more of the same, a deep insight into the future, which very much excites me to see how things have changed.

***STOREY***

It?s a film based on the sci-fi novel by H.G. Wells, 'The Time Machine' which is a I story about scientist and inventor Alexander Hartdegen who, following a personal tragedy of the loss of his wife to be, invents and creates a time machine. When travelling through time, 800,000 years into the future he discovers that mankind has divided into tribes who are at war with one another; mankind has become a prey to another species now co. inhabitance with the humans. As Hartdegan explores further, some disturbing secrets are revealed.

***CAST***

Another main reason why I went to see this film is the fact the Samantha Mumba plays and acting role in the film; its different to what she normally does as she?s a pop singer. I wanted to see how she got along in an acting role for a change.

To tell you the truth her acting was pretty good, she does deserve credit, although we only see her for half the film; she doesn?t appear. The part of the film where she appears in (2nd half) is the worst part of the film; its where the story just goes down the plughole.

Directed by Gore Verbinski and Simon Wells
Starring Guy Pearce, Jeremy Irons, Yancey Arias

***SUMMERY***

It could have been so much better that what was; back to the future was far better than this time travel offering, and that film only time travelled a few years.

The film does start well, its sets the scene it builds you up, until it all tries to do too much. It tried to skip too many years and makes a complete waffle of it. I just cant understand how going 800,000 years
into the future would leave us, the inhabitance of out planet less technologically advanced that we are now. Just how on earth do we end up living in the jungle???. It just doesn?t make sense.

It?s a fairly good film that just tried to do too much??.

The Time Machine?.6/10

This is one of my favourite stories but it doesn't sound too good for this version. Thanks for the info :O)
