The Unborn (2009)
Genre: horror/thriller/mystery
Writer: David S. Goyer
Dir.: David S. Goyer
Cast:
Odette Yustman - Casey Beldon
Gary Oldman - Rabbi Sendak
Cam Gigandet - Mark

Plot:
Casey is a seemingly normal girl until she begins seeing ghosts and experiencing strange occurrences. She learns that there is an evil spirit surrounding her. She learns that the evil spirit is connected to her family and is what ultimately caused her mother's death.
Casey also learns that she is a twin, but her twin died in the womb, which made her susceptible to this evil spirit.
Casey convinces a rabbi to perform an exorcism to drive the evil spirit away before it's too late.
Will the exorcism work and will Casey be saved, or is it too late to expel the evil?
My thoughts:
This is an okay movie, not great, but not bad, just okay. It moved a little bit slow for my taste and was boring in some parts, but it was decent.
The story was good enough, but it could've used a little more action and a few more scares.
The directing was pretty good and the special effects were excellent.
The movie was well cast, and everyone gave very good performances, especially Odette Yustman. Not only was she nice to look at, very attractive, but she is a very good young actress.
I also like the addition of Gary Oldman playing the rabbi. His performance was excellent, yet he was very quiet and low key and makes you not even notice that it's Gary Oldman, but just rabbi Sendak.
If you like supernatural thrillers you'll probably like this one, but it's not for everyone.
Overall, I would recommend this one to any horror fan.
