Advantages: Very entertaining, both to huge X-Files fans and to those who just want to see a good video
Disadvantages: Once you've seen it, you'll be addicted to the show for sure!
"The Unopened File" is the first main X-Files continous storyline to be released on video as File 1. These so-called mythological episodes are what make up the backbone of the X-Files television series. In fact, they are responsible for why The X-Files has become on of the world's highest rated TV shows of all time - they're the absolute phenomenon of the show. "File 1: The Unopened File" contains 3 of these "myth" episodes (as opposed to standalone episodes). It starts with 'Anasazi', the cliff-hanger finalee from Series 2, and both 'The Blessing way' and 'Paper Clip' - the concluding series 3 episodes. Basically, it's all about this... Special Agent Fox Mulder receives a special computer disk from an anonymous source. Upon opening these files he discovers that they have been stolen from the Department of Defense, and for a very good reason. If what Mulder believes is true, these files prove that the US government has known of the existence of UFOs for many, many years. So it's not very surprising that a lot of people what that compuiter tape back, and will go to ANY lengths to do so. Most of the files seem to be in an ancient Navaho language, of which there are only a handful of people that can translate the documents. When Mulder tracks one of these people down, he uncovers truths that he may well have wished he left alone... These events lead him and his FBI partner Scully to the desert, where they discover some shocking revelations. Why have the US Government stored millions of medical records away in the side of a mountain, which contain small-pox vacination and tissue samples from every US cicizen? What possible reason could there be for this, and what are they trying to cover up? An utterly thrilling X-Files story, that reveals many revelations that countinue into other series's - that's why it's called a mythological episode. Even if you're no
t a particularily big fan of the X-Files, this video will equally appeal to those who have no prior knowledge of the show. Remember this is the first main "plot" story, so prevailing episodes have mostly been standalone stories. This video is also highly recommended to those with an extreme sense paranoia!
