Advantages: very very funny movie
Disadvantages: nothing
This is one of my favourite films of all time. This, you may think if you have seen it, is a bit extreme. It isn't extreme! I am in love with this film! Adam Sandler is hilarious and deserves all the good comments he gets. The Wedding Singer is better but I still think you must see it, if you haven't. In Big Daddy, I don't think he was really that good but I think this is because Sandler is good as a main character, in this one, the little boy is. And I think that takes the attention away from him. Let me talk more about the actual movie. Adam Sandler stars as Bobby Boucher, a 31-year-old “Mama’s boy” from the bayou. All his life he has served as a waterboy for an American football team. When he gets a new job, from the Mud Dogs, the team taunt and tease him and generally take the p*** out of him. Eventually he lets of the rage and goes for one of the players. The manager (played by Fonzie from Happy Days) sees this tackle and immediately signs him to the team, as quarterback. You may think, with all this American football talk, you will not follow it. It is wrong to think this. American football may be the thing which the film is based around, but this doesn’t really have anything to do with the storyline at all. Any Given Sunday is a good movie, and that is based upon the whole American football thing. Anyway, he becomes the star of the football team, and the coach from the previous team he served for is kicking himself. Then he gets a girlfriend, Vicki Valencourt. I won’t spoil it for you, but even if I did, you’ll still enjoy it. I must have seen this film about 20 times and knowing exactly what will happen hasn’t spoilt it for me. Though the storyline is simple, it is effective, and many of the jokes are based around it. Throughout the movie he comes up with hilarious lines which you will be trying to re-act afterwards, such as, “you sound like a big choo-choo train,”
; and “medula oblongata” (don’t ask, just watch it). Overall this is a really really funny film but didn’t do well at the cinema over here in Britain, which is a shame. I really do advise you to see this. You’ll laugh you’re heads off.
