Advantages: Histerical, Sandler
Disadvantages: Lack of extras
This is one of Adam sandler's finest movies. For those out there who havent seen it, I would highly recommend it. This movie is non stop laughs and had me rolling on the floor with laughter most of the time. Storyline --------- The movie is based around Bobby Boucher (Adam Sandler) who because of his over protective mother (Kathy Bates) is a local no-hopers college American football team's "waterboy". Bobby never attended a school so is always bullied to to is lack of intelligence. After the coach(Henry Winkler) persuades him to stand up for himself, the coach realises that bobby could just be what the team is looking for. The story follows the teams and Bobby's rise to footballing stardom, all while his disapproving mother doesnt know what he's up to. DVD --- Unfortunatly this movie isnt available in R1 format, as the R2 format is severly lacking any form of extras. What you do get for your 14 pounds is screen: 1.85:1 widescreen languages: English & German in Dolby 5.1 Also Hungarian subtitles:Dutch ; Swedish ; Norwegian ; Danish ; Finnish ; Portuguese ; Icelandic ; Croatian ; Polish ; Hungarian ; German and Closed caption The picture and sound quality are what you would expect from a DVD, but the movie doesnt really have that much in the way of audio action to benifit from 5.1. The layer change is well placed and doesnt interuppt the viewing of the movie in anyway. Conclusion ---------- This is a excellent comical movie but is only worth purchasing on DVD if you are a serious collector who must have all their titles on DVD, for those who like to get a extra packed disc then this is probably one that you best leave alone.
