Right, let's get one thing straight from the start. I hate rom-coms. I hate the sickly-sweet nature of the characters, the sheer mind numbing predictability of the plots which even a lemur with special needs would consider insulting. I hate the fact that the so-called "plot" twists itself around in ever more unlikely ways and relies on ludicrous, impossible coincidences to keep the two protaganists apart, just so it can bring them together at the end in a torrent of vomit-inducing over-sentimentality. Get the message? I hate rom coms. Hate them, hate them, hate them. I would rather have certain intimate parts of my anatomy cut off than have to endure a rom ... Read the complete review

How good is this film. It is a must see. It is funny and romantic and nostalgic. It really is a feel good pick me up film. Adam Sandler is the Wedding Singer of the title, who gets jilted at his own wedding and becomes so jaded and disolusioned with love that he can no longer sing at weddings. His first gig after being dumped is hilarious as he belts out a hate filled rock style song about his ex. Drew Barrymore is the waitress he meets who is planning her own wedding to a complete git. She is the sweet girl next door, longing for a white wedding. He just wants a quickie in Vegas. Adam helps her plan the wedding and find a ... Read the complete review

In my eyes Adam Sandler is one of the greatest actors/comedians/writers ever to come out of America. Since being introduced to the man via the work of pure genius that was 'Little Nicky' I went on to devour every film Sandler had starred in/written or even produced. The Wedding Singer lived up to everything I had come to expect from Sandler even though he is "merely" acting in this movie. Released in 1998 The Wedding Singer was directed by Frank Coraci and stars Drew Barrymore as Adam Sandler's leading lady. It runs for 97 minutes and is rated 12. On this particular edition there are no DVD extras. ~The Plot~ The Wedding Singer is set in ... Read the complete review
