Wizard of Oz - What a classic!! I was brought up with films like Wizard of Oz and wouldnt have changed it for the world. This classic film is one that can be watched again and again. Dorothy and her little dog "Toto" managed to get themsleves in the land of Oz after a Cyclone hit their house in Kansas. She inititally lands in Munchkin land which is the home of small people who welcome her with song and dance. Its not all nice and rosey though as the house she came on landed on top of the Wicked Witch of the West and killed her. It's perhaps pat to even review The Wizard of Oz - it's had such a huge cultural impact that we've all seen it and we all know its place in not only film history but cultural history, and thus there's not much more to say - it is a great film, a classic of the genre and of American cinema in general, and given its age, it has aged supremely well after 70 years, remaining the enduring classic that most of us grew up with and loved.
