This is a road movie about two women Thelma & Louise, both friends. One of them gets drunk and dances with a cowboy in a bar near a major route. The cowboy thinks it is his lucky day and is shot by the girls after forcing one of them into sex which doesn't take place. The girls are now outlaws, several more things happen to them. They pick up a hitchhiker (Brad Pitts first film role) he takes money after having sex with one of them. The film will appeal more to the girls than boys. The meaning of the film is that girls can be free and do what they like doing without men coming into their lives. They could be friends and help each other out ... Read the complete review

There are a lot of films past and present which are on my list to see but it's a matter of getting hold of them and getting the time to see them. Sometimes I like older films better as I feel the acting was a bit better and it was less about the amount of special effects but purely about the plot. When we were having our weekly DVD night, my friend mentioned that she had the film 'Thelma & Louise' it is a classic that I've heard so much about and was curious about but had never had the DVD so when she said it all other options went out of the window and we settled on this for our choice that week. Geena Davis (Thelma) and Susan Sarandon (Louise) are two ... Read the complete review

Thelma & Louise is an American road movie that was released 24th May 1991 & happens to be one of my favourite films. It runs for approximately 129 minutes & is rated 15. The film was made on a budget of $16,500,000 & grossed an estimated $45,360,915 at the box office. Thelma & Louise was an instant success, the critics simply had nothing negative to say about it. Thelma & Louise is directed by extremely accomplished director Ridley Scott who I'm sure most of you will know. He's directed huge hits such as: Gladiator, Blade Runner & Alien. Thelma & Louise steers away from the norm, being that the lead characters are ... Read the complete review

Thelma (Geena Davis)and Louise (Susan Sarandon) are two best friends, who's lives aren't that great. Thelma is a bored housewife, married to a controlling and unloving husband (Christopher McDonald)who is almost certainly having an affair. Louise is a tough talking waitress with a troubled past. Who, although is in love with her boyfriend (Michael Madsen) she doesn't like the look of her future. One day the two decide to go on a trip over the weekend to stay in a friend's holiday house. Thelma sneaks away from her husband. On the way they decide to stop off in a bar. A man comes over to chat the two up and whilst Louise is resilient, the more naive of the ... Thelma and Louise: before I watched this film I knew very little about it, other than the Simpsons parody of it when Marge runs off with her friend for a wild weekend. But if it gets a Simpsons parody, it must be good, right? My theory was proved correct, since I found it to be a really interesting, well-directed and ultimately entertaining film. It’s the film that helped kick off girl power when the Spice Girls were still at school, and it’s part of director Ridley Scott’s large back catalogue of influential movies. Susan Sarandon plays Louise, a waitress who is bored of her boyfriend, and who invites her friend, Thelma, on a weekend break. However, ... Read the complete review
