I watched *They Live *a few years ago ,its a film that really sets one thinking.
Ihave reason to believe the Author of the story wanted to make a piont about todays human society ,like many writers have ,like the story of Gullivers travels ,and Alice in wonderland..

Intro sees a church raided and boxes of sunglasses consficated,He manages to pick up a pair.

its very clever in that it doesnt name the Religion that is showing people the truth, via special sun glasses.They are percieved as a threat ,and their permises are raided ,and the boxes of sunglasses are consficated.

Think of it whenever people get near to seeing clearly the true facts about the real truth ,all down through the ages ,they have been attacked and their property destroyed,so the use of sunglasses is a clever ploy in the plot of this story and film.

i found the effects of seeing hidden properganda,in newspapers and books on the shelves of supermarkets very good and amusing.
The same for the people the drifter bumps into, he can see they are ugly and different once He is wearing the sunglasses.

He bumps into this intriuge,and then takes a pair out of a box thinking they were just ordinary glasses and then starts to see the world in a different form.
I wont comment any more see if you can draw your own conclusions.

Maybe we will see different things in this story.

Remember the saying *Truth is stranger than fiction*.
