Thick As Thieves (DVD)

At a loss what to pick up in the DVD hire shop last night I stumbled across 'Thick as Thieves'. This sounded as formulaic as they come but with it starring Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas I thought I would give it a try (mainly based on the former). I was surprised that I hadn't heard of this as I keep an eye on all the cinema releases and this one had a 2009 date. I later found out that it was straight to video/DVD which tells you all you need to know. The basic premise is the usual. I saw this film last night which I rented as I am a Morgan Freeman fan although not that keen on Anotonio Banderas. (I normally find he takes over his films and is not that subtle) Even though Banderas is one of the main characters i actually liked him in this. It runs for 100 mins and about the first 40 mins are quite slow introducing the characters Freeman and Banderas as high class thieves. Freeman entices Banderas to join him in stealing 2 expensive 'eggs' worth £40 million but from a vault which is almost inpenetrable. **Plot Spoliers Involved** Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas are a couple of crooks who over the get together over the course of a few days and due to the skills of Freeman combined to rob a highly secure facility of a box contained deep in the vaults.
