Plot:

Meet Patrick Smash; he has a rare...gift. He possesses the gift to fart...a lot...nearly all the time. The story then follows Patrick as he tries to live life with his gift/problem. While at home he makes his parents miserable, his fart almost kills his father, ostracizing him from his family, his fart repels all around him, ostracizing him from the community. At school he is bullied verbally and physically. But he eventually befriends an intelligent/very geeky boy named Allan A. Allan, portrayed by Rupert Grint, who looks at Patrick's problem as a gift, and he invents a pair of thunderpants, which serve to contain Patrick's fart in a lunch box while he is at school. However Allan's genius mind comes to the attention of the U.S government who take him away one day. Patrick then embarks on a mission to find his friend, by travelling the world with a singer 'the second best tenor in the world', and using his fart to produce the highest note ever sung turning the second best tenor in the world to the first. The guy who was originally first best tenor, gets angry and suspicious and finds out that Patrick is the one 'singing' this high note, and reveals this secret to the audience at a recital, however Patrick powerful fart has loosened some of the screws on one of the lights on the stage which then falls and hits the singer, killing him, Patrick is then sentenced to death, but just before his execution takes place the people who took Allan, rescue him and take him to Allan. It is then revealed that Allan has been working with a team of genius kids at the space centre, he has come up with a plan to rescue some spacemen trapped in space with the use of Patrick's fart, also ensuring that Patrick will be able to fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming an astronaut.

Points about the film:

So, it starts off with music and showing parts of the thunderpants, and immediately it does look like an inventing film. A bit of a weird beginning with the birth of Patrick, and they use a plastic doll to represent him as he flies out of his mum. There is a ton of slapstick comedy moments. The film is narrated by Patrick. There are a few scenes which are funny to watch, one of my favourite was when Patrick is able to eat baked beans as he now has his thunderpants to prevent any harm from eating baked beans, the moment of triumph made me laugh out loud.

Of course with a number of star actors in here, the standard of acting is very good. Rupert Grint never ceases to amaze me with his acting abilities as he portrays this posh nerd with a hint of buckteeth. There are quite a few surprise actors, Keira Knightley in a small role, Stephen Fry as a QC, Anna Popplewell as Patrick's sister. There are also quite a few harry potter actors besides Rupert Grint, such as the guy who plays Goyle in harry potter, plays the role of the bully, The actor who plays Minister for Magic plays the doctor who discovers Patrick has two stomach's in this movie.

My Opinion:

This movie is so disgusting, and those of you who are queasy/have weak stomachs...do not watch this movie! Having said that, there are moments that children can enjoy such as watching other children take control in the space centre, where the fate of lives lies in their hands. This is probably a film that would be mainly enjoyed by young boys....maybe girls. I think there are moments where you can see the morals behind the story, such as friendship, determination to reach your goals, never giving up and so on. But most of all that, fart can be used as either a weapon or a gift...choose wisely!

Summary: A movie so ludicrous that it makes you laugh.
