Blessed be copyright. Without it we would be in a sea of cheap rip offs that you are tricked into buying (although this happens anyway). Artists everywhere would find themselves destitute unable to support themselves due the swathes of people choosing to buy cheap knock offs rather than the original. But what of the people with no imagination? Fear not, for copyright can only last so long after an artist's death and when this occurs you are free to use the prose as you like, within reason. For this reason we get 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' as well as different 'Sherlock Holmes' adaptations.
