Advantages: Nice ending

Disadvantages: Not as good as before

When I knew this series of Torchwood was coming out I was so excited having loved the first to series. Unfortunately I was disappointed.

The first reason I was disappointed was because it only had five episode in it to the usual 13 but that didn't matter to much to me because even five hours of Torchwood would be amazing, well I thought it would have been.

When I watched the first episode of the series 'Day One'. I didn't really enjoy it but I assumed it was because it was the first episode of the series and I had not seen Tourchwood for a while.

I expected better on 'Day Two' but no. I'm not saying it was terrible, it was okay but compared to the previous two series it was rubbish. However I did enjoy poor Ianto trying to get Jack to open up in there relationship which was still sweet as ever.

'Day Three', I still had a bit of hope Torchwood could turn back to the good old Torchwood but unfortunately not but it did pick up a little bit. I was getting in to it, just not as much and as quick as I did with series one and two.

At 'Day Four' I had gave up on it being any better so instead I decided to enjoy the Torchwood in this series. The ending of this episode certainly brought a tear to my eye, after an incident (not wanting to give any spoilers).

Finally Day five. This was the episode I enjoyed the most, properly because I really wanted to find out how Torchwood resolved there problem which they did but leaving Jack absolutely devastated and feeling guilty about a number of things. Right at the end he did do something extremely cowardly. I really enjoyed the way Jack resolved the problem even though maybe I shouldn't but obviously what was happening there wasn't really happening so I found it entertaining. Some people that watch this might find the whole series, especially the ending a bit to much but for me I enjoyed it, not as much as I hoped for but still.

The storyline was that an alien called the '456' who had come to Earth before and done some negotiating with Jack, has come to earth again and was demanding for ten percentage of all the children in the world or the 456 would basically destroy the world but Torchwood don't want to agree however the government does and they are after Torchwood.

I did miss the previous characters that died in the last series especially Owen and his sarcastic jokes. This series didn't have the same amount of humour as the last two but that is understandable considering the situation they were in and there weren't as many charters for them to joke around with. The last series had five torchwood members in it, including the three in this series, and one of the reasons I didn't and you might not enjoy this series as much is because this series didn't involve as much of the characters life outside the hub. The character Rhys Williams (Kai Owen), Gwen's husband has a bigger role in this series then the last two. For most of the series he is with Gwen helping her to keep the children safe. Gwen and Rhys also have a surprise install for them.

The storyline and the plot in this series may have been just as dark and deep as the previous series but it wasn't portrayed and shown as dark as the others. The darkness and the deepness is always been one thing I've loved about Torchwood so I did miss that. However there are glimpses of the darkness in this series, such as a point in the series where an character decides to kill himself and his family and of course the ending.

The actors are just as good as they were before. Especially John Barrowman who plays Jack and mostly Gareth David-Lloyd who plays Ianto Jones.

This series wasn't as good as before however it was still worth watching just not buying. Although as I said before compared to the last series it was terrible. However I have found that many other people enjoyed this series more then the others but I personally didn't.

If you like Torchwood then at least give this series a go however I don't think you will enjoy it as much so try renting it instead or if you've already seen it on TV I would not advice you to buy this but then you will be able to make the decision if you liked it yourself. If you enjoyed this series but you haven't seen the first two I suggest you watch them too because they will blow your mind out!

Summary: The last two series are better!
