Advantages: teaches children everyday things, they learn french, adults like it too

If you havent seen one of these videos yet you must - my husband and I are addicted!!! So is my son of course!

I admit I was dreading my son reaching the video age because I just thought they would be story type things and tom and jerry etc. When he reached about 1 we bought the first Tots TV video - there are loads and loads of them.

Having watched Rosie and Jim we thought that they would be pretty similar which was worrying because there voices can get on your nerves (both made by Ragdoll). But we were pleasantly surprised.

Basically the videos are about 3 tots living in a cottage alone with thier friend Donkey and a furry dog which they cant see. Tilly is a girl and only speaks in French so everytime she says something the other two repeat it in English. My son is now 3 and from it knows some french and of course it has made him aware that not everyone sounds the same.

They have adventures which bascially are all things that teach your child something - eg going to the airport or the zoo; washing the car; making a cake etc...

They are brilliant and my husband and I love to watch them too as they are quite funny. One I do recommend is called 1,2,3 and it teaches them to count 1-10 - you'll love number 8 if you are into rock and roll/heavy metal!!!

You can always hire one from your local library if you want to see whether your child likes it first before spending any money.
