This is one of those movies that comes out every so often, for kids of all ages. Ok, so you know the good guy's gonna win. so what? If along the way there are enough bumps to make your pulse beat faster, and you find yourself rooting along for ... YEE-HAH! Woody and the gang are back. Andy's toys are in top form for another tale to warm the cockles of your heart.
From the opening scenes when poor Buzz Lightyear looks to be facing the end of his toyhood, you are in for the sort of treat that will have the die-hards gagging and the rest of us engrossed. Poor Woody can't find his hat, and fears he won't make it to the Cowboy Camp with Andy. Well, at least Mr Potato Head found his wife's lost ear and ear-ring, so he's off to a good start. Yes the toys are all present and correct, and seem to have been quite happy since the frst movie ended.

Ah, but then things changes. A last-minute game gives Woody a war-wound, will he still go to Cowboy camp with Andy, or not? Who gets sold at the Yard Sale? Who is the feared Mr Chicken? the tale gets going.
Woody has a nightmare that he is thrown away, to the pit where old, broken toys are doomed for eternity. Then, in attempting to rescue one of his friends, he is kidnapped and held against his will. Loyal friends, led by Buzz, set out on a rescue mission. But will they find Woody in time? Who are Stinky Pete the Prospector and Jessie the Yodelling Cowgirl? What hold do they now have over Woody? Well, you'll just have to cater to your inner child and watch the movie to find out!

There are some parts that stand out more than the rest - like the Barbie pool party and Tour Guide Barbie showing the touys around Al's Toy Barn. Mr Potato Head's reaction was hilarious. The sequence where Jessie tells of her previous life "She Loved Me" was excellent, very well done. Very poignant.
Altogether, if you loved Toy Story when it came out, you will love the follow up. Toy Story II is a great movie kids will want to watch again and again.
