Advantages: Awesome effects, great acting and good story

Disadvantages: Maybe a little long

As a huge fan of the first Transformers film and a mega fan of the original cartoon series, my anticipation for this sequel reached an unprecedented level and I am delighted to say that the movie didn't let me down in the slightest. The first movie was one of those rare films that I could watch more than once within a couple of weeks and this will be no different.

The expected amazing special effects are all in there in abundance again and perhaps even reach new heights in parts with the immense sequence of a mountain of vehicles all transforming and merging in to one huge single Decepticon. Luckily, Optimus Prime was on standby to take it out.

As a fan of the original series and the structure of the Autobots vs the Decepticons, I am not too sure that this movie strictly follows that with the introduction of a superior Decepticon to Megatron. As I remember it, Megatron was the ultimate bad guy in the series and always should be. That being said, the writers made the appearance of The Fallen seemless and integrated it brilliantly into a worldwide story that ended in the mother of all battle scenes that was seemingly endless.

The human acting in this movie is again to a high standard and all the men out there, including my husband, will be delighted to see the endless slow motion scenes involving Megan Fox running. I have to admit, even I thought... "wow".

My only real problem is that the running time was maybe 30-45 minutes too long as some of the sequences, particularly the fight scene at the end, could have been condensed into much shorter segments. That being said though, these sequences are really, really good and maybe don't deserve to be omitted.

Without spoiling the end of this movie for you, it is quite obvious that there will be a third movie in this awesome series and I for one cannot wait to see it.

I implore you all to see this movie, but don't watch it unless you have seen the first movie. Watch them in order and it will make so much more sense.
