Advantages: Special effects
Disadvantages: Got borng
I never really noticed the toy from which this film was effectively a spin off, dolls were more my scene however I do remember by brother pestering my folks for a Transformer when he was little only to break it within a couple of weeks of opening his xmas presents. Having said that at least it held his interest longer than this film managed to hold mine.
The original Transformers film was all about a fight between good and evil with the good Autobots saving earth from the Decepticons with the help of a human called Sam Witwicky, played by Shia LaBoeouf. After the comnflict the remaining Autobots are working with the military to mop up the remaining Decepticons however some in the military fear their potential power and are looking to destroy them while a new breed of Decepticon wait to rise from the ashes to resume the battle.
On the plus side the special effects are pretty good with this film however the plot is rather pathetic and the acting is predestrian. Megan Foxx appears as Witwicky girlfriend Sam pandering to the adolescent male teen market that this film is aimed at.
For me the film is too repetitive and it relies heavily on the special effects to carry it through, there is lots of crash bang wallop action scenes but in the end it is not enough to sustain a film that runs for over two hours.
Certainly not something I would recommend as being worth watching.
Summary: Not a good film

- 09/10/09 I thought the second film was good, not as good as the first, but still worth a watch. Admittledy the action did become a bit tedious towards the end but I thought overall it was worth a watch. |
