Noisy, too much action, and rather annoying. (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (DVD))

The anticipation for this movie was huge, the first was good so I had to watch this one in the cinema. The movie starts nicely quickly setting the story up for more robotic action.

All too soon the movie gathers pace and becomes almost too fast paced and action packed. I actually walked out of the cinema for a break as the action and noise was getting too annoying.

The effects are great and the effort put into the visuals are brilliant, but the film is swamped by a never ending deluge of over use of graphics. The animations of the robots are actually too complex and it borders on being messy and too much to take in.

The story itself is standard action movie stuff, but it is harmed by bad characters. The leading lady is obviously just there for titillation, and some of the others are just plain annoying (e.g. the 2 smaller robots talking like rappers).

If you can switch your brain off and just enjoy the ride this is a half decent movie, but it might be advisable to have some ear plugs handy as it can easily become a noisy mess of a movie too.

Summary: Action without style and substance
