This review is about The Transformers: The Movie, I will give information about everything about Transformers the Movie, and hopefully some background on the episodes so you know the movie better. So here I go, about to start the review...
The Transformers, are these robots that can transform into a vehicle, there are 2 different races, Autobots, and the Decepticons, they are 2 races trying to destroy each other. The Decepticons are the evil ones, and the Autobots are the good ones. It is a robot bruel. There are loads of Transformers, not all of them like to fight, but they must to defend themselves. You have some Transformers that have loads of different uses, like Perceptor (voice of Paul Eiding), who can transform into a telescope. There are loads that can do things like this, but they all have different uses. There is this one called Devastator, which is 6 Transformers joined together to make the ultimate Transformer. There are some Transformers that can let out mini Transformers, which are really affective, they took down Devastator.
The Autobots have this team of Transformers called the Dino Bots, which consist of Transformers that can transform into Dinosaurs. The leader of this team, is Grimlock, who can turn into a giant grey Dinosaur. The Autobots are controlled by Optimus Prime, the holder of The Matrix. Decepticons are controlled by Megatron, a destructive transformer, that can turn into a destructive gun that Starscream wields. Starscream is like second in command of the Decepticons. In the movie Optimus Prime fights Megatron in the Autobot city, it is a really cool battle, with the background music of The Touch.
Optimus Prime can transform into a large lorry, that can run over the other transformers. Optimus Prime is like the God of all Transformers. Hot Rod, this cool Transformer that can transform into a sports car, he has a friend human called Daniel, who hangs around with Hot Rod. Hot Rod becomes the new Prime, in the end of the movie because he is the one able to unlock The Matrix which destroys Unicron. Unicron is this giant planet that eats up other planets, which is like food to him. No one can escape, no one ever has, but they all tried, but when they do, they are always too late, not even the most powerfullist spaceships can't get away.
The Matrix is this sphere, that has the power to bring light at your darkest time, as in it will destroy the evil when it is at the time when you could be destroyed, but only "The One" which is Hot Rod / Optimus Prime, that can unlock it. When Hot Rod becomes the new Prime, he is called Rodimus Prime, which is a more powerful him. There are quite a few Transformers that get destroyed in the first battle. The unlucky ones.
The Plot of the movie... Its about the Autobots trying to stop Unicron destroying the Universe, so Unicron can't suck up all the planets. There is more to the plot, because there are the Decepticons, that when Megatron gets beaten by Optimus Prime in there kick butt fight, Megatron gets recruited by Unicron, and Megatron turns into Galvatron, and he is much more powerful then his last form. He helps Unicron stop the Autobots from stopping Unicron. Who succeds in the end, you will have to watch the movie and find out for yourselves.
The characters performances are very good, they have big battle scenes, and many of them. It is like it could be real, well not in the time it is set. It is said that next year... 2005, that robots will be fighting each other, and roaming the cities or the Earth. There are a good set of characters, within good and bad, and also Neutrul, more good and bad then Neutrel. Hot Rod and Kup crashed landed on this mysterious planet, and there was loads of these strange robots, that sort of help out, in their own little way.
The sound is great, the voices are not dubbed, it is in English, not too sure if you can do different languages, or just subtitles. The voices are played by, well ill just list them:
Norman Alden .... Kranix/Arblus (voice)
Jack Angel .... Astrotrain (voice)
Michael Bell .... Prowl/Scrapper/Swoop/Junkion/Bombshell (voice)
Gregg Berger .... Grimlock (voice)
Susan Blu .... Arcee (voice)
Arthur Burghardt .... Devastator (voice)
Corey Burton .... Spike/Brawn/Shockwave (voice)
Roger C. Carmel .... Cyclonus/Quintesson Leader (voice)
Victor Caroli .... Narrator (voice)
Regis Cordic .... Quintesson Judge (voice)
Scatman Crothers .... Jazz (voice)
Peter Cullen .... Optimus Prime/Ironhide (voice)
BJ Davis .... Dirge (voice)
Paul Eiding .... Perceptor (voice)
Walker Edmiston .... Inferno (voice) (scenes deleted).
The soundtrack is supurb, it has the main Transformers Theme, and it has loads of others like You've got the Touch, which is called... The Touch. There are loads of other songs, but they are not big. My brother owns this tv soundtrack CD, which has a few Transformer songs on, like the Unicron theme, and the Episode main theme, and also The Touch.
