Advantages: best film EVER, action packed, major nostalgia for the older generation
Disadvantages: i suppose all that nostalgia could be a bad thing ?
The transformers movie is an animated film but it's not just a cartoon it is such an amazing film, it should be up there with star wars and the matrix and i don't believe that any modern day animated adventures can ever out do transformers the movie, not even Titan AE. The movie begins with the evil decepticons taking control of an autobot starship so they can infiltrate autobot city on earth, home of the autobots who fight for all that is good, but the decepticons are spotted by Hotrod (an autobot) so they are forced to disembark from there comandeered ship and invade the city. The battle begins outside the city and moves inward breaching all the cities defences, eventually the decepticons are ovverruning the city and the ultimate battle between Magnetron and Optimus Prime begins leaving both leaders near death. At this pioint the battle takes a turn and the decepticons are forced to retreat from earth leaving autobot city in ruins. Meanwhile a new threat has entered the galaxy, Unicron, a planet that literally devours other planets. Unicron creates Galvatron from the dying Magnetron, galvatron then resumes control of the Decepticons after destroying starscream at his own coronation (ah starscream, that brings back memories, i remember the episode where he created his own army from WW2 military vehicles). Anyway further battles ensue across a number of worlds with the autobots desperately trying to stop Unicron with the autobot orb of leadership (the only weapon which can stop Unicron). The best part of the film is the final battle after unicron devours Cybertron moon 1 and moon 2 and then transforms in order to destroy Cybertron itself and a massive battle ensues inside and outside Unicron. I recommend this film to everyone of all ages, for the older generation there will be major nostalgia, come on be honest, who still has all there transformer toys up in their attic somewhere ?, and for the younger generation it w
ill introduce into the world of transformers. (i now regret giving all my transformers videos to my younger next door neighbour) I also recommend the other transformers film with the headmasters in it (you know, the one with scorpinok in it). that one has my favourite ever scene in it : Autobot 1: we've got decepticons incoming. Autobot 2: how many of them ? Autobot 1: .......all of them !

a-true-ben - 28.05.01 Classic film. there really was a discussion of this over the Uni dinner table last week too (the shame). The op could do with some improvement to the presentation though - more capitals, paragraphs, etc. Ben |
