*Film only review* Some of the strangest things have triggered me to go back and watch a film that I have not seen for a long time, but this thing is the weirdest ever. I was perusing the internet when I stumbled across a guide of how to make your own Tron suit. Just the idea of creating your own costume is an incredibly geeky thing to do, but the site is enhanced by the bloke that made the suit. There are countless pictures of a moustached, middle aged, obese, American man wearing his own version of a Tron suit. The internet £9.99; a month. Finding obscure and crazy websites – priceless. It’s the early 80s and computers have begun to influence ... Read the complete review

TRON was an extremely revolutionary film for its time (1982), being the very first to boast CGI as a main selling point, and so in many ways can be considered among the first of the modern blockbusters. Jeff Bridges plays Kevin Flynn, an extremely talented computer programmer who had his work stolen by a former fellow employee, who then locked him out of the system, leaving him working at a video game arcade with little to no prospects. He inserts himself into the video game architecture that has been stolen from him, and thus attempts to get revenge by destroying that very system. TRON could very well have been a very dumb, brainless action outing that's ... Read the complete review

This film is a Disney fantasy, but unusually it manages to combine its superior and distinctive special effects with a mature script and dramatic events. The result is a vision... This Special Edition DVD has a superb documentary with it, highlighting the reason for this film's continuing longevity. The world which it presents still intrigues and absorbs and its concept and themes are still relevant. Despite its age they are surprisingly appropriate for this modern and technologically reliant society, perhaps even yet to be regarded as prophetic. It was made when computers were beginning to shed their novelty appeal and pose possibilities that ... Read the complete review

I think that this film is really under-rated. Considering it's subject matter & how ahead of it's time it was. It should really be given more credit. The first part of the plot is that Kevin Flynn, played by Jeff Bridges, used to work for a computer company. Whilst working for them he developed some video games. The company found the game files. Stole the work & copyrighted it as their own proceeding to make millions from them. Flynn is sacked & buys a video game arcade to keep earning money. Flynn keen to prove the games as his own, breaks into the companies office & starts trying to hack the computer to obtain the proof he needs. The ... Read the complete review

Only three reviews? Pah! Perhaps it may be that this film is so inexplicably awesome that people don't see fit to review it, but I sure as hell do. This film is groundbreaking, as it was made in 1981 (I think), and back then giant arrays of special effects weren't avaliable to all and when we look back on the special effects used back in the ol' days, we can't help but feel a little cynical and call them crap. Tron, however, is an exception. Tron, the titular character, doesn't feature alot in the film and isn't a giant part, and is bloody annoying. But nonetheless, it makes for a cool title, so I can see why they used it. The main character isn't ... Read the complete review
