Advantages: Great Storyline, Excellant acting, Great special Effects,

Disadvantages: First half hour i found a bit slow.

Hello all

I recently brought this film on DVD for just £4.99 from Play.com after my 12yr old son and 9 year old daughter kept nagging me to buy it! I have to say i wasnt really interested in the film as i didnt think it would be my type of film after not really liking "Buffy or Interview witha Vampire" but loving the 80's cult film Lost Boys nothing else seems to match up in the vampire stakes - get it! lol

I sat in the front room whilst they started to watch it whilst i was messing about on my laptop. Within half hour of the film starting i was totally engrossed! Edward and Bella rock!

Bella used to live in Phoenix with her mum and her stepfather, but decided to move to a small town called Forks to to live with her father for a bit.

Bella feels different from the other students, and looks different - Extremely pale and beautiful in a different way than other girls.

Thru school she meets a family called the Cullens. They too are different and are all extremely pale and have a air of mystery about them. The family consists of Dr.Carlisle Cullen and Esme, Rosalie and Emmett, Jasper and Alice, and finally the georgous Edward played by Rob Patterson.

Bella and Edward are attracted to each other straight away. There is real chemistry there. Bella senses that Edward is different from her, because of his eye colour changing to gold and black, his speed and strength. She then researches and learns that he is a vampire, along with his family. He warns her to stay away from him, but they can't resist eachother.

Edward and his family are different to other Vampires because they don't feed on human blood, but hunt animals instead. They don't want to be "monsters". Edward and Alice have a special power each. He can read people thoughts (except Bella's), and Alice has visions of the future. They can go out during the day, but prefer bad weather (the thunderstorm Baseball game is brilliant) , because when it's sunny their skin glows like diamonds and everyone would notice that they don't look natural, hence not human.

Bella is not scared because she knows that Edward and his family would never hurt . For Edward it's hard to be too close to Bella, such as kissing her for example, because she's like "his own personal brand of heroin" as he says.

However, there are other vampires in Town who aren't just killers but are "trackers". One Tracker has a immediate attraction to Bella that will not go away. He has to have her!

I wont give the spoiler away incase you have not read the book or seen the film but i was totally memorized for the last 3/4 hours of this film and it blew me away! I was totally surprised a "romantic teen vampire" film grabbed my attention in this way.

I highly recommend it. It has a 12 rating and i do think it deserves that as there is some fighting and blood scenes and this film does deal teenage feelings, hormones and romance.

I will definately be reading the books now with my children (i am hoping they will let me borrow them ) and cant wait for the sequel!

Summary: Fascinating film not just for the Teens!
