Advantages: The hype.concept of unconditional love.visually brilliant

Disadvantages: Nothing extraordinary.

I know its almost too late to review this but i just finished watching it! Inspired by a novel of the same name,it stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Bella and Edward respectively. I am sure everyone knows it is a love story where one of the principal character is a vampire.

It is really tricky when a film is based on a novel because the expectations are sky high and comparisons are inevitable.I managed to read a good half of the book and it sure did help me understand things better,not the proceedings but rather the emotions of the characters(especially of Bella) because the book expresses them more fluently.

Though it is a vampire story,but it is more of a girl meets boy kind of a film.Its the love story which takes centre stage and drives the film. The best moments of the film come in the form of their interaction, the basic thought of a girl loving the guy so much that she wants to give it all.

The performances of the lead pair are decent and they do manage to create an aura around them, though i would have liked it more if Edward wasn't made too be so white! One good thing about the film is the fact that her appreciation of his beauty is less apparent in the film, the book goes over the top with that. And nobody would actually want to see all that- a girl going ga-ga on a guy's beauty!

The film is visually stunning( i don't mean the graphics and the fight sequences but the way its shot).The story can be claimed to be a bit of a cliche,but i guess it had to end that way.Twilight is nothing extraordinary and all the extra hype surrounding the film is actually due to the superhit novel.
