Advantages: Amazingly shot, great story

Disadvantages: The story can't decide whether to be realistic or not

Despite the somewhat cliché setup, this is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. Its is beautifully shot (on a low budget might I add), very emotion evoking and to put it simply and down right cool film.

Somehow the casting, costume and make up teams have managed to make every character look like a model. This is made more striking by the tones that the director of photography has chosen to light and shoot the film in.

The acting is a little melodramatic but the desired effect works well. Most viewers seem to fall in love with either Bella or Edward (or both) and they screenplay makes you feel an attachment to both of their personalities.

I liked the way in which this film tried to make it seem a realistic possibility that vampires really are lurking in the suburbs but I think the fantasy aspect works well too.

I am eagerly awaiting the release of new moon but from the trailers it looks like it might be an over-budget disappointment. Hopefully the directors and producers have stayed true to their initial concept. We shall see.....

Summary: Can't wait for the next one.....
