It's really random how some films get a cult following and some don't. I've never understood the appeal of "Withnail and I" for example. Throw your hands up in horror all you want, it's just not funny. No matter how many times you repeat the same tired, unfunny lines. Again and again and again. One film that deserved a cult following but never got it is Twin Town. I don't know if it brought cold sweats to the staff at Swansea's tourist information office, but they shouldn't worry. It's all in good fun. Rhys Ifans and real life little brother Llyr play the town's eponymous Lewis twins (who aren't really twins, just close in age) who live on ... Read the complete review

Twin Town is a brilliant film, though quite random. The story is about two twins (one of which is Rhys Ifans)who are enemployed and spend their days nicking cars and taking drugs. The film is aboslutely hilarious, and there are two other main characters who come into the plot to make it good. These people are two bent coppers who sell drugs and are basically corrupt about everything. They hate the Twins and the Twins hate them. The Twins do things like ruining one of the coppers friends rugby pitches, so revenge is sworn. They then go and piss on the guy's who rugby pitch they wrecked daughter whilst she is on karaoke in a bar. ... Read the complete review

Well, here’s how it began. I was browsing through Vinyl Exchange in Manchester City Centre, by far the best place for videos I know of. They have everything from Cult Classics to Mainstream Flops all at reasonable prices and is the place I spend many a pay packet increasing my collection. A video in Vinyl Exchange is the same price as that to rent a video in Blockbuster so I’m of the mind I might as well just buy it. If you’re a local, give it a go. Well anyways… This fateful day saw me purchase Killing Zoë, a Tarantinoesqe drug loving gangster film set in France - delightful, and Twin Town, a film about two Welsh tearaways and the ... This film is one of the best I have ever seen. It is a hilarious black comedy starring Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill) and lots of other fabulous actors and actresses whos names escape me right now. The story is comtemporary and is set in Swansea, Wales. The plot of the film basically is that there are two twins who live with their father (Fatty) and their mother and sister, these twins commit various crimes such as selling and taking drugs and joyriding in various cars. Fatty takes a job mending the rugby club roof when he falls and breaks his leg the twins set out to see the rugby club owner (BRyn Catrwright) for compensation, Bryn of course does not give them ... As i am currently studying at university in Swansea i brought this DVD as it as set here, and was pleasantly surprised that it was not just a waste of money of behalf of my loyalty to the city of Swansea! This is actually a very well made and thought out film. It evolves around to so called twins, although they are actually brothers, who steal cars and deal drugs, there family is accidentally murdered by a 'bent copper' as retribution for them killing a wealthy man's poodle. The 'twins' then take it upon themselves to murder the two involved, is some quite unusual but creative methods. At the beginning of the film the 'twins' are portrayed rather negatively, ...
