 ... comparable film is Lock, Stock.., but it would be unfair to not judge this in its own right as this is not another clone. It has some genuinely funny moments along with some shocking one too as you follow the neat story to a satisfactory if not dramatic conclusion. What makes this different and refreshing is the aussieness of it. I would guess that the majority of people have not even heard of two hands let alone seen it. I have an australian flatmate who recommended it to me and so I recently rented out. I was not disappointed. This is an aussie gangster movie with real bite. I have not seen many aussie films but this one really caught my attention. It follows the Heath Ledger character as one monumental mistake leads him and his girlfriend to be pursued by a host of crooks trying to recover their lost money. Australian movies that arrive in our video stores are generally worth watching as is the case with this nice little one that did very well in its home country winning the equivalent to an Aussie BAFTA. Heath Ledger plays Jimmy who’s handy with his fists whilst working as a bouncer on Sydney’s notorious Kings Cross full of bars and strip clubs. But Jimmy wants to move up in the crime world and takes a job for Pando a local hood that’s the main man in town. His job is simple and all he has to do is drop of ten grand to a woman in Bondi beach.
