Advantages: There is at least one tight outfit.

Disadvantages: Nothing in comparison to the other films in the trilogy.

This prequel to the previous Underworld films tells of how the Lycans (Werewolves) were slaves of the vampire race until one day, enough became enough.

When the daughter of William, a vampire elder, is found to be carrying the child of a werewolf (Lucian) her life is threatened by her own domineering father. This causes her lover to rebel against his former master and call forth the armies of the opressed Lycans.

With a familiar use of special effects for wolf transformations as well as being set in the past, this does of Underworld action is frankly boring in comparison to the previous two films. A lack of exactly that, action, and a tendency to drag out storytelling scenes with unnecessary filler material are what come to mind when looking back at this film. It is obviously a result of the success of the previous films and therefore an afterthought.

With a lack of Kate Beckinsale and also a lack of the action that made the other films exciting, this film is a disappointment.

Summary: Give this a miss.
