Hasn't everyone seen this before? The serial killer with the weird gimmick, the over-sexed teens who get what some kind of biblical morality thinks they deserve (look out for a girl in a low-cut top or a lad who smokes dope - they'll be toast), the virginal heroine, the inability to have a satisfactory end? It's all been done before, with more style, more frights, and better dialogue.

Here, the killer is renacting various urban myths at a remote college, although this cunning plot manifests itself in lots of tedious deaths with vaguely familiar gimmicks. Although it's nice Alicia Witt who the killer seems to be hunting, it's the mildly slutty (and infinitely more appealling) Tara Reid, the dopey Joshua Jackson, the in-joke casted Robert Englund who get it in the neck. It's as if psychotic Mary Whitehouses are writing these rubbishy thrillers to persuade kids to behave, stay at home and only leave home in the company of some nuns. There's zero tension, no really good shocks, and lots of pointless running about.

If you want horror on campus, watch 'H20', and if it's laughs you're after, there are already three perfectly good 'Scream' films and 'Scary Movie' on the way. Ignore the myths and legends, this film is a genuine stinker
