This is a review of just the film, but for information, the region 2 DVD was released in 2009. Vacancy 2: The First Cut is a prequel to the 2007 film Vacancy and readers should be aware that parts of this review may make reference to plot details from the first film in a way that may spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. The decision to follow a commercially successful film with a prequel is a tricky, but increasingly popular proposition.
