note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room The National Lampoon's series has spawned some great films (particularly those starring Chevvy Chase, such as Family Vacation, but also Animal House), some good ones (Loaded Weapon, daft though it is), and a few naff ones recently, but one watchable one is Van Wilder, which helped its star Ryan Reynolds rise to fame. Van Wilder (Ryan Reynolds) is a charismatic and young (ish) man who has been at University for seven years now, but has still not graduated, putting more effort into organising parties and other social activities despite being a few mere credits away from graduating and simply ... Introduction - Like American pie ? Road trip, euro trip ? If yes, then this movie is right up your street. If not, then this film probably isn't for you. Anyway, for those of you that answered yes, i can safely say you can watch this film and you'll be entertained throughout. It's a typical american college comedy. Pretty stupid but it works. I actually got this DVD after reading a few reviews raving about it on here. I thought it looked like a good comedy, so when Amazon sold it for just a few quid in one of their big warehouse clearance sales, I got a copy. The RRP is £15.99 but Amazon still have it quite heavily reduced at £4.88. I think it's worth that price if you like this kind of film. Van Wilder: Party Liaison is all about a student called Van Wilder who really should have graduated from college several years earlier. His busy Dad is shocked to realise just how long Van's been at college for when he gets a phone call, and tells Van that he's not willing to fund his carefree lifestyle ... Read the complete review

Introduction - My friend Tim introduced to the film, he clearly had a misconception about what University (English version of College) would be like, turns out his false ideas all spawned from one film, Van Wilder: Part liaison. The film was released in 2002 as a comedy and was directed by Walt Beckers. The lead male role is played by Ryan Reynolds, an at the time fairly new actor who has since continued to play similar comedy based roles in films such as 'Just Friends'. Tara Reid plays the lead female role, best know for her performances in the American Pie films and Cruel Intentions. Plot - The film starts as it means to go ... Read the complete review
