Advantages: Comedy moments of gold

Disadvantages: Plot is stupid but what do you expect for a film of this type.

Introduction -

Like American pie ? Road trip, euro trip ? If yes, then this movie is right up your street. If not, then this film probably isn't for you.

Anyway, for those of you that answered yes, i can safely say you can watch this film and you'll be entertained throughout.

It's a typical american college comedy. Pretty stupid but it works.


Plot:

Van Wilder, is a legend around his campus, notorious for being a wild party man.
His semester begins by holding interviews for a personal assistant.
He ends up hiring a goofy indian kid who only has one objective, learning the great american art of muff diving.

Van soon realizes that his father is no longer going to pay his tuition and that he not only won't be able to go to school but will no longer have a personal assistant, he starts to scheme possible ways to get extensions and pay for his tuition by himself, his schemes don't pay up and he soon sees that he's in trouble until a geek needs a favor. He needs to throw a 50th anniversary party for his fraternity and he wants people to actually attend. Van finds that he has a gift, he can throw a kick ass party, so he throws a party for the geeks and the place is crawling in 'american muff'.

Soon after Gwen, the school reporter, starts writing about Van the party liaison, when the article comes out, everyone at the college wants Van to throw them a party, he figures that if he does this for enough people, he'll be able to pay off his tuition fees.

As the film progresses we see that Gwen and Van have a muteral attraction, however she's going out with a spoiled frat boy that has a problem with premature ejaculation...

The frat boy is also head of the student council and starts to see Van as a threat to his relationship with Gwen, so he tries his best to get Van expelled from college. They inevitably have a few run ins during the film which end up Van being excluded from the College.
Van soon realizes that being a friend to people in needs pays of when the entire school unites and tries to find a way to keep Van in school.
They are successful, he gets to stay, but under one condition, he has to pass all his classes.

I don't want to ruin the ending for you so you'll have to watch it to find out what happens...

Personal opinion:

Good light-hearted film to watch, there are a lot of laughs throughout this film with a bit of romance thrown in for good nature. This is a film you can watch with friends, alone, with a partner, and you'll laugh the same each time.

A recommended watch

It only costs around a fiver and i'd say thats good value.

Summary: Well worth watching
