Advantages: suspense, intrigue, entertaining, great actors who play great characters
Disadvantages: none
This movie was good. The storyline was excellent, the actors played their amazing characters very well, and the movie kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time due to the on going suspense the plot provided.
The story is about a brother and a sister Peter Garrett, played by Chris O'Donnell and Annie Garrett, played by Robin Tunney, who are the children of a renowned rock climber Royce Garrett, played by Stuart Wilson. When Royce and his two children were on a rock climbing adventure they were involved in an accident that left all three of them hanging of the side of a mountain with a single rope keeping them alive. When Royce orders Peter to cut him loose in order to save his two children even though it will mean plummeting to his death Peter is forced to give in, in order to save the life of his sister. After this awful tragedy Peter gave up rock climbing for good and decided to become a photographer of nature.
Annie however, has not given up her climbing days. She has actually become one of the world's most renowned climbers and is hired by Elliott Vaughn, played by Bill Paxton, to guide him on a climb of the K2 mountain, a mountain located in the Himalayas that is has the 2nd highest peak in the world. In the middle of this extremely dangerous climb, a storm hits and unexpectedly Elliott, Annie, and the rest of their crew find themselves trapped in a cavern that has been sealed tight by an avalanche.
Peter hears of his sister's disappearance on the mountain, puts his fears aside, and organizes a rescue group. Peter and his team must locate Annie and her team before they either run out of air or freeze to death.
This story is touching and beyond suspenseful in the race against time to save the trapped climbers. I highly recommend it.
Summary: Very Supsensful and Entertaining Movie
