Advantages: Great effects and scenery

Disadvantages: a little predicatable

If you loved Mission Impossible you'll love this. In summary this film is about a brother trying to rescue his sister who is trapped in a crevass on K-2. It's definitely an action movie but if your willing to look past a few implausibe details there are also some heart wrenching moments and some very harsh decisions to be made which make you think. I don't want to go into detail on this as it would spoil the story line, but the opening scene shows a very harsh decision being made which was not just a hollywood story line but reality for some climbers.

As usual with these films the inevitable happens but along the way there are a few suprises and some humourous moments which allow you to relax back from the edge of your seat.

As you'd expect there are a few avalanches, there are also quite a few spectacular explosions and there is also some gorey blood. If you've ever seen Fargo you will know how gorey blood can be in snow!

This film won't win any Oscars for acting but there were some great effects and fantastic scenery, so I'd defintely recommend going to watch it at the cinema as I think it will loose a lot when released on video.

One other thing I did notice was the amount of advertising in this film, from North Face being splattered all over the tents, to huge crates of Pepsi being sat in the background for no apparent reason.
