He played the role of one of the most frightening men in the history of film. Having seen the trailer for this Vicky Cristina Barcelona in the cinema I decided to give it a go. I have watched Woody Allen movies in the past and found them fairly hit and miss with me, and unfortunately more miss than hit. The cast was interesting and it sounded like there was a good plot, so time to dip my toe back into the Woody movie pool again Vicky (Rebecca Hall) and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson) go to Barcelona for the summer. Vicky Cristina Barcelon is a Woody Allen directed film and a pretty entertaining one at that. The highly thought of Javier Bardem stars opposite Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson is an enjoyable film that managed to hold my attention but also lacked a certain spark that would lead me to give it more than three Dooyoo stars. The film certainly does have its humourous moments as you would expect with a Woody Allen comedy but it left me feeling like there could have been more smiles in it. This 2008 film, written and directed by Woody Allen arrived from lovefilm at the weekend and so I finally got to see it. I had been waiting for an opportunity to do so for ages as this was a film I had heard a lot about, ranging from gushing praise to bitter disappointment, I was determined to make my own mind up.
