As The Rock has started to make a name for himself the action roles seem to have been rolling in. This time he stars with Jack Ass star Johnny Knoxville in his latest vehicle to announce his arrival as Arnie’s replacement. He has put in some reasonable performances prior to this movie and seems to be making a name for himself as a hot property in Hollywood. This film is a remake of a movie from 1973 by the same name, but a story I’m not particularly familiar with. It is based around the true story of a man who becomes so fed up with the corruption in his own town that he decides to do something about it. The Rock takes the role of Chris Vaughn, who having left ... Read the complete review

After returning to his hometown in Washington after 8 years in the Army Special Forces, Chris Vaughn (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson) is shocked to find out just how much has changed since he's been away; not only has the cedar mill where his Father used to work closed down but his old friend Jay Hamilton (Neal McDonough) has opened up a very lucrative casino which has become the town's main source of revenue. Upon visiting the casino, Chris discovers that gamblers are being conned out of their money with weighted dice. A confrontation ensues in which the casino security beat Chris to within an inch of his life. Chris wants to get on with his life but when his ... Read the complete review

Walking Tall is an action film released in 2004. It is a remake of the 1973 film of the same name that is based on the life of Sheriff Buford Pusser, although the main characters name and the setting was changed. The film is rated 15 due to lot of violence and thuggish behaviour and it is 83 minutes long. Plot Chris Vaughn is an ex Special Forces sergeant who returns home to his small town where he hopes to get work in the local mill. On his return, he finds out that the mill closed three years ago and Jay Hamilton, who he used to go to school with, has opened a casino in town. The casino is the towns main source of income so Chris and his ... Read the complete review

I have just finished watching the film Walking Tall starring former WWF wrestler The Rock and Jackass front man Johnny Knoxville. The film was released in July 2004 and was inspired by a true story. The Rock was attracted to this role due to being a fan of the 1973 version of Walking Tall. Plot Chris Vaughn (The Rock) a former US Soldier returns home after eight years to find that is hometown is not what it once was. He is perturbed to find that the lumber mill that his Dad worked at had been closed down three years earlier and to find that the main source of employment for the town now is a casino run by a past acquaintance of his Jay Hamilton ... Former WWE wrestler The Rock continues his move into acting with this role. Based on a true story he plays Chris Vaughan, a member of the Armed Forces who is returning home after being away for some time. He finds that the town he left isn't the same one that he has returned to. The monumental timber mill has been closed down and has been replaced by a new casino as the town's main source of income. The people have changed too and the general feeling around the town isn't the same as it once was. The owner of the casino is an old friend of Vaughan's and after he and his friends go there to celebrate his return, they find that it has rigged games and drug ... Read the complete review
