Advantages: Fantastic graphics, great story

Disadvantages: Bit slow to get going

I have to confess that I am a huge fan of animated films such as Toy Story, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo (yes I am nearly 30!!). When I saw the trailer for this new Pixar/Disney film I just had to see it!

The film is set in the distant future in an earth that is no longer habitable for human, animal or plant life. The only 'creatures' that exist are robots, and one cockroach! The film is based around one robot in particular called Wall e.

WALL E stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth Class, phew, who thought of that one?!! Walle is a lonely robot with only a cockroach for company! Walle spends his time collecting nic nacks such as lighters and plastic spoons however his main job is to crush and sort all the waste human beings left behind.

Walle's routine is interrupted one day by the landing of a huge spaceship from which a sleek, modern looking robot called Eve appears. Walle is smitten from the start although Eve tries to shoot him on more than one occasion!

So here begins the romantic tale between these two robots which is the basis of the film. When Eve's spaceship returns to collect her Walle cannot bear it and hitches along for the ride! When the spaceship reaches it's destination you will find out where all the humans have been living for hundreds of years!

Not wanting to give away too much of the story Wallee basically finds the 'key' for the humans to return to Earth. The humans are served by many different robots in their 'new home', all with different characters and very entertaining!

The graphics in this film are amazing and you will not be dissapointed. I did find the first three quartes of an hour of the film a little slow but the graphics make up for this. The story line soon picks up when more characters are introduced and there are some hilarious, witty moments in this film!

The basic idea of the film is quite a dark one and could one day become true?! What if we did pollute our planet so badly it could no longer support any kind of life? The film however does take a very light take on this and the film certainly doesn't depress you!!

Overall I would reccomend this film to people of all ages! It does not reach the same level as the likes of Toy Story for me but it is still a very clever and well thought out film.

Summary: A great film for all ages
