This was the first outing for Wallace and his sidekick Grommit. The premise of the film is that W & G have run out of cheese so rather than going to Tesco's they decide to build a rocket and go to the moon - obviously!!!! Grommit really is the brains behind this outfit and so he builds the rocket and they take off for the moon. Though they nearly don't get there when they forget the crackers!! Once they get to the moon they have a picnic and cut bits of the moon off to eat - well we all know the moon is made of cheese. The "oven" character that lives on the moon hopes that he has found a friend but W & G don't quite see it that way ... Read the complete review

A Grand Day Out was Nick Park's first W&G film which he made at the National Film and Television School. It took quite a bit of time to make, but it was definetley worth the wait! It involves a man and his dog who are looking at various holidays brochures such as 'Picnic A to Z' and 'Cheese Holidays (LOL!)' Wallace decides to make himself and Gromit a cup of tea, but they are fresh out of cheddar. As we all know, Wallace and Gromit love cheese and would do ANYTHING to get some! Wallace goes down into the cellar (Which suspiciously looks like a dungeon) and draws up plans ... Read the complete review

"More cheese, Gromit..." Great inventors of our time, episode 16 - Wallace. Nick Park is a modern day hero, the master of Creature Comforts and the father of the Great Lancastrian genius, Wallace, he of the knuckle head, wingnut ears, corduroy trousers, sage tank top, impossibly square smile and a desire for le fromage, and the only character ever to keep Bethany dave27 engrossed for more than about five minutes - she's regularly sat engrossed by the third in the series of W&G animated shorts 'A Close Shave'. Well, anyone who can do that obviously deserves the dave27 award of special merit and this very evening our lovable duo are ... Read the complete review

Donkey’s years ago a programme on children’s TV called Take Hart, introduced the viewing public to a mischievous Plasticine character called Morph animated by Nick Park. From these humble beginnings came the now world famous and Oscar winning adventures of Wallace and Gromit animated by Nick Park and Steve Box. The first of the trilogy of films lasts 25 minutes of stop/go animation of characters modelled from Plasticine. If you just stop to consider for a moment what that means you will realise that an enormous amount of dedicated and patient work must have gone into making it. Filmed at one frame at a time each figure is moved a fraction at a time ... Read the complete review
