Advantages: Good twist at the end

Disadvantages: Bad acting, action scenes weren't the best either

I watched War last night, being a fan of Jason Statham and Jet Li so thought this film would be a winner, how wrong I was!

Jason Statham plays an FBI officer, who deals specifically with Triad and Yakuza gangs along with his colleague. One night they encounter an assassin by the name of rogue who works for the Yakuza I believe. He attacks Jason Statham and his colleague shoots Rogue who falls into the water. It seems that Rogue has been killed, or so they thought.

Jason Statham's colleague and his family are then murdered, apparently by Rogue who then disappears.

Fast forward 3 years and he surfaces again, with Jason Statham eager to settle the score.

The acting wasn't the best, and the action scenes didn't really get the film going like they should have done, overall I felt the film was lacking in something although I can't quite put my finger on it. The only saving grace is the ending, which, to be honest I didn't see coming as it was a good twist.

This film isn't one of Statham or Li's best films of recent years, but if you're a fan of either one and looking for something to pass the time then you might want to rent it out and see what it's like.
