Advantages: A nice script and plot, some humerous moments
Disadvantages: Not a great rom-com.
**The Plot**
Mary Fiore (Jennifer Lopez) is San Francisco's most successful Wedding Planner. She is hard working, organised and most of all she loves her job. Every wedding she organises becomes a fantastic event, arranged to the strictest of schedules, so that the Bride and Groom can enjoy their day.
During a normal busy walk to work, Mary has a slight accident and literally falls into the open arms of a very handsome doctor. The doctor takes care of Mary and they end up going on a semi-date. Mary is on top of the world, and everyone notices when she heads to work.
Mary is asked to organise the wedding of the year for a very wealthy family, The Donnolly's. Fran Donnolly (Bridgette Wilson) is marrying the man of her dreams and wants the wedding to match. Mary is delighted to take on this wedding, and so sets about meeting the Bride, discussing ideas, and eventually meeting the groom. And yep, you have guessed it, it's the handsome doctor who saved Mary, Dr Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey). Now the only real rule of being a Wedding Planner is to not fall for the groom, but unfortunately Mary has.
She decides to forget about her attraction to Steve and carry on planning the wedding. The real question is, will she help Steve walk up the aisle to his bride to be Fran, or will she step into Fran's place?
**My View**
This film is a fairly non-obtrusive sweet romantic comedy. To be honest Jennifer Lopez does seem to play the same sort of character over and over again, and I am finding it hard to believe each time that her character is unlucky in love and on the shelf, but that aside it's a nice film.
I have always like Matthew McConaughhey but I don't really feel like this film lets him shine that well, and he does seem to take a back seat in quite a lot of it.
The plot is obvious, but it is still done with a nice touch of comedy, which lightens the whole mood of it.
I did enjoy this film, but like I have said it is quite a normal "rom-com" without anything majorly different about it to make it stand out.
Summary: A nice, sweet film.
