Advantages: Romantic comedy, enjoyable watch

Disadvantages: Not the best romantic comedy ever

Mary (played by Jennifer Lopez) is the best wedding planner around. She is well organised, has inspirational ideas and is supportive to the brides. She is also ambitious and persuades her boss that if she gets the job of organising Fran Donnolly's wedding (a woman from a rich family) then she will get promoted to a partner. While organising Fran's wedding she comes to have an accident and is saved by the very handsome Dr Steve Edison.

The pair hit it off immediately and there is an undeniable spark between them. They have a date watching a movie outdoors and dancing but their date comes to an abrupt end just before they kiss. The next time they meet Mary discovers that Steve is in fact Fran's fiancé. Now Mary has the hardest job of her life organising the wedding of the man she loves. Alongside this she has to deal with her father trying to organise her marriage to a man she last saw when she was a young child. Will true love win the day? Will anyone get married? Watch and find out.

The story is the usual girl meets boy, they fall in love but can't be together. The story is unsurprisingly quite predictable at times although there are a few little surprises. The plotlines are fairly basic but what would you expect from a typical romantic comedy. It isn't the best romantic comedy I have ever seen but it is enjoyable enough.

I never saw this film when it came out at the cinema but recently watched it when it was shown on television. I thought it was a lovely sweet romantic film. It's not the best film ever made and it is rather cheesy in places but it's a nice film to curl up on the sofa and watch.

Jennifer Lopez may not be everyone's favourite actress but she plays her role in this film really well, the slightly obsessive wedding planner who dreams of true love. Matthew McConaughey plays the romantic lead really well with some humour to liven things up. Judy Green who plays Penny the assistant wedding planner has to get a little mention as she plays the role of the slightly mad and scatty assistant really well.

Unsurprisingly enough the credits end with a Jennifer Lopez song "My love don't cost a thing!" Nothing like promoting your own songs!

I enjoyed the film, I watched it curled up on the sofa on a Saturday afternoon with a cup of tea and a chocolate brownie! It was an enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours. I enjoyed watching it but I wouldn't rush out to buy the DVD, I think its one to rent perhaps but not one I would watch again and again. If you are after a romantic girly film then this might be the one for you.
