I feel like I could write a 150 word review, just writing the word cr@p 150 times, and it still wouldn't convey how truly awful this film is.

== Synopsis ==

Someone is trying to eradicate the Watchmen who are a group of super heroes who splintered away from the Minutemen who were also super heroes, but like most people with a little bit of power it went to their heads, and they began to be worse than the criminals they were supposed to be stopping.

The Watchmen alter major historical events, so the Americans actually with the Vietnam war and Nixon has a third term in office, but then Nixon decides to outlaw the Watchmen and force them all into retirement. After Blake (aka the Comedian) is killed, Rorschach decides that all the Watchmen are in danger and attempts to warn them.

== My Thoughts ==

Did I mention I thought it was cr@p lol. There was one good part of the film, so I might as well begin there, the soundtrack was pretty good, with Unforgettable, The Times They Are A-Changin, Hallelujah, 99 Luftballons (although we never heard enough of that one) and The Sound of Silence being just a few of the tracks on the soundtrack, it's just a pity they were spoiled by the dialogue and the visuals!

The filming itself was noisy and grainy, I much prefer sharp images with reduced noise, but that in itself isn't a reason to hate a film. The reason I hate this film is the storyline, such a pile of unbelievable pap, I've heard that it's based on a comic, but it's not a comic I've ever heard of, and I can't believe it'd be a comic book that could stand the test of time if these are the sorts of stories it produces.

I only recognised one of the actors, and don't recognise the names of any of the others particularly, and I'd be surprised if they got any more work after appearing on this one. There was no emotion in any of the acting, Billy Crudup has an excuse because his character is meant to be aloof and miserable. The rest of the cast don't have that excuse, but the acting is so wooden Jackson's Timber must think they've won the lottery.

The story is very disjointed and jumps from here there to everywhere, and I absolutely hate the way the American are show to win the Vietnam war. I know it's only fiction but it sickens me that film makers think it's suitable and right to show the war mongers and murderers winning.

Final thoughts, avoid this film whatever you do!

TBH Paul I don't recall any stand out moments in the film, except the end of course lol. :-)

I actually quite enjoyed this. You could tell the reader a fair deal more about; the CGI and special effects, what the directing was like, any 'stand out' moments and more. It is fair enough that you didn't like it, but for me a review has to be a bit more than this to be very useful.
