Advantages: A good main event, coupled with a few high flying stars at their best

Disadvantages: Changes in the card due to injury and illness, and a weak PPV line-up

After the success of WCW in 1997, 98 and into 1999, things were tough for the once biggest company in Pro-Wrestling. The writers and bookers were swapped, changed or fired, the company started losing Millions of Dollars and the Wrestlers started to feel like leaving was the best option.

In the midst of the turmoil, was a weekly show called WCW Nitro, which still kept 4m viewers entertained with the usual battles that went on inside the ring, and these battles usually spilled over into a Pay Per View, which would ultimately either be the score-settler, or add more heat to the rivalrys that were going on.

Bring on Souled Out. Originally made to be an nWo ONLY PPV, Souled Out continued to be shown as a WCW PPV, showcasing some of the best talent in the Wrestling industry.

Headlining was Chris Benoit. A now infamous wrestling talent that is known for some bad things in his history, but at Souled Out, competed for his first World Championship against Sid Vicious.

Also in the PPV, Kevin Nash took on Harcore Legend Terry Funk for control of WCW, former Tag Partners Booker T and Stevie Ray faced each other in singles competiton and the Wall took on Billy Kidman.

Souled Out 2000 is known as one of the worst PPVs in WCW history, due to the sheer lack of star power on show. It was filled full of talent that wasnt ever pushed high enough to even be considered worth the price of the PPV by fans. Bret Hart pulled out and subsequently retired because of a Heel Kick from Bill Goldberg. He was originally scheduled to take on Sid for the title at this PPV. Jeff Jarrett also pulled out, complaining of feeling ill for a few weeks. Jeff was meant to take on Benoit for the US Title, so as the WCW staff saw it, just combine the two main events competitors, and you have Sid vs. Benoit.

This would also be known as Benoits last match in WCW, hen he left for the WWE, then the WWF, the day after.

Upon watching this PPV, its understandable to see how WCW would have gone out of business if PPVs were produced of this quality every month, but that simply wasnt the case.

However, Souled Out 2000 is the basis of what a PPV SHOULDNT be like, and I wouldnt recommend it unless your a true, hardcore WCW fan, or a fan of any of the wrestlers on show.

Summary: Wasnt worth reviewing, much less watching...

pretty much the start of the end of the last wave of top quality pro wrestling to be honest. Teddy boy should get a wrestling set up going again.
