We bought a zoo is based on a book of the same name by Benjamin Mee. The book tells Benjamin's true story about him and his family bought a zoo in Devon, England and went about renovating it. I can't remember how I first heard about this book but I read it a few years ago and to be honest I found the story a difficult one - although the context of the book was good and it was on a topic I was interested in and I wanted to see what would happen next I just didn't feel that drawn to it like I had imagined I would.
