Rating:
Weeds is a superb dramedy show that has well and truly helped put the fledgling network Showtime on the map, along with the superb serial killer show Dexter. These two shows have been the major critical and commercial successes for the network, and Weeds, having recently finished its fifth season run in America, shows no signs of stopping its meteoric rise. The show revolves around Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise-Parker), who, when her husband suddenly drops dead, has her soccer mum bubble popped, and is forced to find a way to support the suburban lifestyle she shares with her children Silas and Shane in Agrestic, California. In this Series we are made aware of the situation Weeds star and stunner Nancy Botwin (Sarah louise Parker) finds herself in. Her healthy hubby keels over in to a bush during a run with his son and dies, leaving her to fund the expensive suburban lifestyle the family live. Like all sensible good mothers, she turns to pot dealing through the friend of her brother in-law. This is a clever, dark comedy, a little rude at times and never to be taken seriously, we witness her trying to set up shop, whilst at the same time keep her ... Read the complete review
