It's been a while since my last review, largely because I was 900 words into one when my internet explorer crashed and I felt a bit disheartened. But now I'm back exploring one of French cinema's weirdest offerings. The Basic story of Week end is that two people are travelling to try and reach Oinville. They are an unhappily married couple and are travelling to get money out of the female, Corinne's mother. The film was made in 1967, at a time of political turmoil in France. Student riots were causing problems in Paris and there were difficulties abroad in Algeria.
