Advantages: Nice romantic story line
Disadvantages: Same old same old. Very drawn out and not much happening
When Harry met Sally is a lovely romantic film but at times it can be quite slow and not much seems to be happening. It is the sort of film that a couple might watch together. It is not suitable for younger viewers as there is quite a lot of strong language and quite a few sex references.
The Plot
The story is about two people, Harry and Sally, who don't particularly get on well together and have a lot of difference of opinion. By chance they keep meeting each other throughout different times of their life and find themselves growing to know and love each other.
The story is nice and romantic but not much more. It is very much the same as a lot of other romantic films and very predictable which is a shame as there is a lot of opportunity to extend this film into more.
The Cast
The main two characters are played by Meg Ryan (Sally) and Billy Crystal (Harry) and other than that there are not really many other actors that stand out.
I would recommend that it is a film worth seeing if you have never seen it before and if you enjoy watching romantic films but don't expect anything out of the ordinary or special. However I would not suggest that anyone pay full price for this dvd as it is the kind of film that you would watch once and not again.
The dvd copy of the film that I own also includes some special features. These include the original trailer, 'The making of...' featurette, audio commentary, deleted scenes and a music video.
Running Time : 1hr 32mins
Price : Less than £5 (in most high street stores) Don't pay more!
Certificate : 15 - Strong language and sex references
Summary: Worth a watch if you like rom com.
