When Harry Met Sally it wasn't your usual fairytale romantic story. This is a little more real than your average romance film.
Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) and Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) meet in college though a friend whom Harry is dating. He and Sally drive together from Chicago to New York City to begin their working lives. During the road trip they argue and have different opinions on most topics of conversation, most notably Harrys statement of "men and women can't be friends because the sex part gets in the way". When they reach New York City they part and are no closer than when they first started on the journey. Over the years they meet randomly around New York and eventually become good friends. It isn't until near the end of the film that Harrys question is answered in relation to their friendship.
I thought Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal were really perfect for the characters, they had just the right amount of chemistry and carried off the witty writting perfectly. I also loved the added touch of older couples statements of how they met scattered throughout the film.
